Our principles - Policy statement in accordance with the German Supply Chain Sourcing Obligations Act

Dear customers,

we hope that you are always satisfied with the services and products provided by DIAMED, and we thank you for your trust. Regarding the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (German: Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz, LkSG), we would like to inform you that this law is not applicable to our company according to §1 para. 1 LkSG, as we do not meet the criteria for its application. Nevertheless, we would like to emphasize that compliance with legal norms and ethical standards, as well as responsible conduct, are fundamental principles of our entire business activities.

Therefore, we have decided to issue a voluntary statement of principles in line with the requirements of the LkSG:

We are committed to respecting human rights and environmental obligations within our supply chains. We strongly condemn all forms of child and forced labour, slavery and human trafficking, and all forms of discrimination. Responsible corporate governance is a crucial part of our corporate culture and business activities. It is important for us to fulfil our ethical and legal responsibilities as a company. Only in this way we can create trust and be perceived and accepted by our customers as a reliable partner in the healthcare sector. As a family-owned company, we are committed to socially and ecologically responsible corporate governance.

We carefully select our suppliers and service providers according to these same aspects and expect them to actively implement the obligations arising from the LkSG. Our long-standing partner and main supplier Asahi Kasei Medical has drawn up its own comprehensive Code of Conduct in this regard. We are continuously working to make our supply chains transparent and sustainable and ensure that our products and services are manufactured/supplied/provided under fair and responsible conditions.

As a distribution and application specialist for medical products, we are in continuous exchange with our suppliers and service providers to avoid human rights risks and environmental risks and to comply with legal requirements in our supply chains. We expect all our employees to observe and comply with these principles and to contribute new stimuli to our corporate culture. Therefore, we have drawn up an internal Code of Conduct that is binding for all employees and clearly sets out our expectations of our employees.

If we detect a violation of our principles or conclude that such a violation is imminent, we immediately take appropriate remedial action and initiate appropriate steps to prevent, end or minimize the extent of such violation with the aim of always and fully upholding our principles.

This policy statement was adopted and signed by the management as well as the Chairman of the Advisory Board on August 1, 2023 and subsequently posted on our website. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
